My ‘89 Beretta GT had pillar mounted door handles. I loved that feature! Super unique! *also fun to have first time passengers reach for the handle then get a dumbfounded look on their face when it wasn’t where it is normally placed!

Yeah, but none had 3.8L engines. 3.4 was the biggest in Gen 5. Gen 6 was coils all around w/ 3.8.

Well those ones broke constantly, in my experience based on a 93 Grand Prix and 93 Olds Cutlass Supreme a buddy and his Dad owned. So that might have something to do with why GM stoped using them.

However the Chevy Sonic, Honda HRV, and Toyota CH-R kind of use them to hid the rear handle.
